Check out Artistic Expressions Gallery on TV! :)

Siana and I have been very busy with Artistic Expressions Gallery. We've had a few mini showings, we're planning our next major show for 2011 and we recently were interviewed for a television show. It will be airing on "The Scent of Fashion" on Friday Nov. 19th on Comcast Cable's Total Living Network (TLN). You can also catch it online today for a sneak peak! (Click the link below) God is so good and I'm grateful for every opportunity he brings our way!

Dream it. Feel it. Think it. Do it.

Let's see where to start....Well I took my vacation to Miami with the girls a few weekends ago and we had a blast! One of my goals checked off my list! I'm excited that I have almost completed all of my 2010 goals already. Now it's time to create a new list with even bigger and better goals to tackle. Writing down goal and to-do lists truly keeps me motivated and focused. Sometimes you may not know how the task will possibly be carried out but the universe and God will move things around to bring your vision and dreams to fruition. I've really been taking the time to stay motivated on reaching my goals; staying positive even when things get hard. So to all of you I wish good luck reaching and achieving your goals and hopefully you can return the favor and send some positive energy my way! :)

Missing planner

I'm highly disturbed upon realizing that my beloved planner is MIA!! For as long as I can remember every year I run to CVS or Office Max or Depot to grab a new planner for the upcoming year. During that year I write everything down. My appointments, to do lists, important notes etc. I stash receipts and small papers in the pockets and overall it keeps my life in order! So after all these years this is the first time that I have just lost a planner. So I am hoping that I'll be able to find it in the midst of my messy car or some other place. If not I guess I will just have to go out and buy a replacement and try to regroup. :( Also, to top it all off it was the cutest planner I've ever had in life. :( :(

Getting Bikini Ready ;)

Wow, summer is here! The weather was great today. I do realize that we are in Michigan though and this could do a complete 180 at any moment...The summer coming means my birthday will be here before you know it! I am excited to be going on a vaca with my girls to celebrate and have really been working hard to be bikini ready! ;) I have actually been doing exercises nearly everyday and yesterday I even took a 20 minute walk. For me that is drastic seeing as how I never ever work out what so ever but it feels good and I'm seeing results already!

I'll end this post with a few new projects I've worked on. I've done a lot of things for health care related companies lately. Here are three of them. (Harlin's Helpers I may have previously posted but the brochure design was not included.)

Till next time!

Downloading is cool!

Wow, I'm so excited! I downloaded so many new fonts today that I am currently installing on my computer. The key word to the process is FREE. I found some great free fonts thanks to different designer sites I browse that had some great links to super cute free fonts. I was in dire need of some new options because I found myself browsing through all the same old fonts with not many sparking my interest the way I would like. I also downloaded a lot of web icons some of which I probably will never use, but hey, great to have in the design library right! And since I have this huge external hard drive I can download from here until infinity!!
...These are not the fonts I downloaded, it's just a cute image to get the point across. :)

CCS Event recap

Lately my weekends have been pretty nice and fun-filled. This past Friday I went to the Student Art Exhibition at CCS and it was really a nice time. They had multiple floors of different art, food choices, music etc. I'm glad I went. The student's work was really impressive too...gave me some motivation to get started on some new work soon. Since the show last month I've been on artwork hiatus just focusing on design stuff...My friend who I went to the event with also gave me a good idea about how I can structure the next Artistic Expressions show. Seems like a good idea...Keep you posted on that. :)

Busy Bee = Me

Well I thought once the art show/book release was over I would get a break...which I kind of did for a few days or so, but overall I've been working, working, working which I am not complaining about. Designing is my love and having projects to work on makes me happy. :) I've also been doing a lot of career days and events at schools which is always a good thing to do. Some of the questions I get from kids on career days are so funny. lol...anyway, today I dropped off brochures to two of my clients and I'm happy with the turnout.

Here's a picture of one of the printed brochures. It's not the best picture because I just took it on my cell phone but I will post better images later just wanted to give you a peek. ;)
Well...it's 1am and I just finished working on an invitation design and am so sleepy so nighty night! :)

An Evening of ARt Literature + Charity @ Charles Wright Muse

An Evening of Art Literature and Charity

Yay! Our event on April 9th was a huge success! My sister and I displayed our artwork and my best friend Monica Sholar released her first novel "No Pie in The Sky." The festivities were held at The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History and a portion of the proceeds are benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Metro Detroit. We had a great turnout and I would like to thank everyone who came out and showed support. Special thanks to Street Vision who helped promote our event, our great band and all of our sponsors who provided items for our gift bags. Can't wait for the next one!! :)

New Year New Attitude!!

So far I cannot complain about 2010. It has definitely been off to a great start! I have truly been on overload working in front of my computer all day then heading home working on my computer until I go to bed most nights. But I definitely would not have it any other way. I do need to find time to update my website which I continue to put on the back burner. I will definitely blog those updates the moment I complete them!

I also have a few of my drawings on display at The Arts League of Michigan which was previously in an exhibition for Ford Motor Company. So I am definitely continuing my goal to produce great design and fine art work. I am constantly working to get my work and name out to the masses while helping as many people as I can in the process. The main way to help people through my art work is to create wonderful professional design and marketing materials that will help grow and promote companies as much as possible!

There is so much that I want to do and plan to do and right now I feel positive and happy enough to put those plans in action!! :)
